Secret Deal of the Week
Each year we gather, late in December,
To celebrate with friends, and family members.
But why the heck do we, what's it all about,
Read this short poem, I'll point it all out.
The pagans began it, worshipping the sun,
Winter solstice being, the year half done.
The Christians said, let's make it our day,
To honour JC in a meaningful way.
Along came St. Nick, with gifts and a bag,
This bishop thus added his name to the tag.
A poem and a coke have made him today,
The jelly belly old man, travelling by sleigh.
Whatever has happened, and whatever may come,
It's here to stay, there's naught to be done.
Grab a festive book, and a cosy armchair,
And sit by the fire without a care!
